Durham’s Heritage Garden Club has a standing annual project of putting poinsettias in the Durham VA Hospital Chapel at Thanksgiving.
Several poinsettias are purchased in honor of specific veterans whose names are printed on a poster displayed
in front of the chapel and near the entrance.
The plants are tended daily by the garden club members throughout the holiday season.
After Christmas the poinsettias are given to VA patients to brighten
their rooms!
