The Durham Council of Garden Clubs wrapped up its 2013-2014 business year with a Garden Party themed Annual Meeting at the Hill House in Durham, May 6, 2014. Attendees were encouraged to sport informal gardening outfits with a potting shed theme.

In business matters, the 2014-2015 Council budget was presented and approved.

The Council also voted to combine the proceeds from the Blue Star Memorial Dedication and Ceremony budget with the centerpiece sales from that day's Annual Meeting to make a collective charitable contribution of $107.89 to The Denson Apartments for Veterans project. The Denson Apartments are located at the corner of Guess Road and Sedgefield Road in Durham.
